Just remember this mnemonic:
My Very Easy Method Just Sends U Naming Planets.
| N.B. Press reporting (Independent 8/10/02) describes the discovery of a new planet. Quaoar (pronounced Kwah-o-whar) measures 800 miles in diameter and is a billion miles outside Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 288 years. Although the biggest mass found in our solar system since the discovery of Pluto in 1930 it is too small to be described as a planet. The name Quaoar comes from an "ordering force" in Native American religion. | ||
| The Ancients associated a day with each "planet" they knew of and in the Middle Ages, the alchemists, aware of only 7 metals linked these to the planets as well. Take a look at this table. | ||
